Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina are officially the top two contestants on “American Idol” Season 10. Both have country music roots, so it’s a tough decision to choose a favorite. The good news is, no matter who wins, we will have a country music “American Idol” winner for the first time since season 4 when Carrie Underwood took home the title.

Who are you rooting for? Scotty or Lauren?

“Hearing, ‘If I Die Young,’ on Idol was a proud moment,” said The Band Perry. “It’s so exciting to see a song we wrote in our basement walk its way onto one of America’s biggest stages. We wish Lauren much luck in the competition and thank her for lending such a sweet voice to our song.”

Savannah Berry’s Golden Ticket

Here’s some cool news.

Savannah and her family are currently on vacation in Orlando, FL and staying courtesy of the Royal Plaza Hotel (one of HTTV’s sponsors) on Disney property. Yesterday she did the American Idol Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and was the overall winner for the day, winning both her show and the final against all the previous winners of the day.

She won the “Dream Ticket” that will allow her to skip the lines and go straight to the producers audition for the real American Idol show. On top of that, the American Idol producers have just lowered the age from 16 to 15, so she’ll actually be able to use the ticket this summer! Well done Savannah!!! Congrats from Honky Tonk TV and the Royal Plaza Hotel.

Here’s the video that we posted back in April, a cover of Miranda Lambert’s “The House that Built Me.”
